Color Trends for 2015

Seems like the  color spectrum is in a very generous mood for 2015...because from soft pastels and smokey greys to bursts of Mediterranean blue and Vibrant orange.. To nature inspired greens especially olive green...and Pantone Marsala making its presence felt on every furnishing - The color code for this year is mostly  nature inspired. So while the creams and the browns or the whites may seem won't be disloyal to them if you decide to play with colours on accent walls or at the very least your cushions or throws...

1. Blue is the hue

From a soft calming blue to its more vibrant shade of Mediterranean hue... This colour is very versatile. While changing your upholstery to a very solid shade might seem a tad too bold ...but a patterned rug or wallpaper can easily change the look of your room. Just make sure you don't stick with one shade though. Go for a lighter shade on the walls and enjoy bursts of color with cushions or even lampshades.

2. Go green...(not with envy though)

Remember your vacation in the mountains or that relaxing vacay on the beach imagine the same oasis of green in your bedroom. Green color has a proven therapeutic effect on your mind and is the easiest color to coordinate with. Olive green is the color trending this year but team up your favourite shade with whites , creams or even a smokey grey and see nature come alive in your space...

3. Marsaala...drink it up...

This winey reddish brown color is all the rage , from international fashion runways to global interior trends .. And the best  part-  it is oh!! so Indian home decor friendly!!! From a shag carpet,  to splashing it onto an accent wall in a room ( preferably with lots of natural light)  this color can ground your room as well as highlight it. This earth toned Pantone color on a wall,  can easily handle gold accessories for a rich look,  or soft creamy shades  for an understated chic look...

4. Grey is here to STAY!!

Who could have thought that grey would become an exciting color choice?? But it does have endless possibilities..Solid grey silk curtains (with a sheen) in your bedroom,  scream high class while charcoal or slate grey tiles, can give a contemporary look to your bathrooms. But a word to the wise ,  have variety in terms of texture or shades to avoid a monotonous look,  or add pops of color with green or blues.
